Visit Lokobe Reserve to experience an authentic Madagascar tropical forest and discover the unique wildlife of Nosy Be. Located in the southeast of the island, Lokobe is the last remaining primary rainforest on Nosy Be and is well known for its rich biodiversity, including rare and endemic flora and fauna. This nature experience is ideal for travellers who want to spot black lemurs, panther chameleons, and other reptiles, birds, and amphibians found only in Madagascar.

We will cross the mangroves by speedboat for around 30 minutes, then stop to explore the wildlife, fauna, and flora.

The itinerary

Day 01

Hell-Ville to Lokobe Reserve and Ambatozavavy Village

At 8:30 am, after I pick you up from the agreed location, we will begin the tour.

Drive about 25 minutes out of the city. On the way, we will stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the island, including the Lokobe forest, with time for photo stops. We will then continue driving through the ylang-ylang perfume plantation.

Arrive at Ambatozavavy fishing village, where you will meet local people, walk through the village for more information, and take photos.

From there, ride by speedboat to Lokobe Reserve. We will cross the mangroves by speedboat for around 30 minutes, then stop to explore the wildlife, fauna, and flora. We will walk inside the reserve for about 2 hours to look for lemurs, chameleons, boas, birds, frogs, and more.

At lunchtime, enjoy a traditional meal at a restaurant in Lokobe village. Please let me know if you are allergic to fish or shrimp.

Afterward, cruise and drive back to Hell-Ville, then drop-off at our agreed location.
