Description
Embark on this safari that takes you to Kibale national park for a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Explore the highest concentration of primates in Africa. Also, walk through Bwindi's impenetrable national park for a gorilla trekking experience. The park is home to half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, including several primate species such as baboons and monkeys.
Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
- On your arrival at Entebbe international airport, our guide will be waiting to welcome you to the pearl of Africa, brief you on how your safari will be and then transfer you to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale national park, visit to Amabele GaNyina Mwiru and fort portal crater lakes
- After having breakfast at your home, our guide will meet you and transfer you to Kibale national park. The park is located in the western part of Uganda in kabarole district, 358km from Kampala, taking you 5hr and 15mints. Drive through the impressive countryside landscapes with impressive scenic views, including the scenic Mubende inselbergs including small towns like Mpigi, Mityana and kyenjojo.
- You will have lunch en-route after you visit Amabele caves, named after the live stalactite formation. Amabele (breasts like features) are believed to have belonged to a king’s daughter who is said to have been so beautiful that no man could leave her alone. So her father the king, decided to cut off her breasts to make her less attractive. This didn’t stop her attractions towards the men so the king decided to hide her away in the cave now known as the Amabele caves.
- After the caves, you will visit the fort portal crater lakes, then continue your journey to Kibale national park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking
- After breakfast, you will drive to the Kanyanchu Visitor’s center for a briefing from the park ranger, then go for the trekking, which takes 2-7 hours. When the chimps are sighted, you can spend one hour with them, learning about their behaviours and watching them play, feed, eat, rest, and mark their territory. You will return for lunch and relax at your lodge. You will then have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
- After breakfast, embark on a 377.8km (7hrs 19mints) journey to Bwindi national park. You will have a scenic drive to the park, where you will have a clear view of the Rwenzori Mountains, traditional homesteads, and banana plantations, among others; you will have an en-route lunch. On your arrival, you will check in to your hotel, relax, and have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: All day Gorilla tracking
- After breakfast, pack your lunch, then head to the park's headquarters for a briefing from the ranger on the rules governing gorilla tracking and how to behave when you are with the gorillas. The gorillas take 2-8 hours. When the gorillas are sighted, you can spend one hour with them, learning about their behaviours, watching them play, and feeding their young ones, among others. Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala
- After breakfast, you will embark on a 512km drive to Kampala. The drive is so scenic; you will have beautiful views of native communities as they take on daily activities like markets, craft centres, and rolling hills.
- You will stop at the equator at Kayabwe for pictures and the water experiment. You will have a traditional lunch at Igongo cultural centre, then continue your journey back to Kampala with unforgettable memories and a lifetime experience with the gorillas.
