Description
Embark on a thrilling 1-day Rhino Tracking trip to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located in Nakasongola district. Our highly trained rangers will guide you through the sanctuary and give you an insight into the history and guidelines of the sanctuary. You will get to see a number of white rhinos up-close, as well as other wildlife species such as monkeys, antelopes, hippopotamuses, and crocodiles. The tour includes an opportunity to take photos, ask questions, and learn more about wildlife.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
- Early in the morning, after breakfast, Avelisa Tours driver guide will pick you up at 7:00 am from the agreed point or hotel of residence in Kampala or Entebbe. The driver guide will brief you about the 1-day Rhino trekking trip. Embark on a 3 hours drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary
- We shall drive through the districts of Kampala and Luweero until we reach Nakasongola district, the home of the Ziwa rhino sanctuary found along the Kampala-Gulu highway. Upon arrival at the Rhino sanctuary, you will be further welcomed and briefed by highly trained rangers who will also guide you through the rhino tracking activity. The rangers will give you guidelines and the history of the sanctuary.
- During tracking, you will see several white rhinos in very close proximity; you will get a chance to see other species of animals. The sanctuary is home to at least 40 mammal and reptilian species, including monkeys, antelopes, hippopotamuses, crocodiles and numerous bird species like shoebill stock and reptiles. You will be in a position to take photos as well as ask questions about rhinos and wildlife at large
- The tracking activity will last for 2 hours, depending on the location of the rhinos because tracking is done on foot.
- After the rhino tracking experience at Ziwa rhino sanctuary, return and meet your driver, transfer to Kabalega Dinners for lunch and relaxation and embark on a journey back to Kampala or Entebbe or your preferred drop-off point.
