Travel through the central highlands to Morondava, admire the naturally intertwined trunks of the baobab trees, and photograph the sunset at the famous Avenue of the Baobabs. This journey also includes cultural stops in Antsirabe and Bekopaka, along with time in Morondava. Drive to Antsirabe, the capital city of the Vakinankaratra region in the central highlands of Madagascar.
Stop in Ambatolampy to visit the aluminium foundry.
Visit the zebu horn workshops and the tiny toy workshops in Antsirabe.
Visit the mineral market in Antsirabe.
Enjoy a city tour by rickshaw in Antsirabe to see the old cathedral, post office, old railway station, and the local market.
Drive directly to Morondava, the gateway to the Avenue of the Baobabs, where massive baobab trees tower over the landscape.
Pass by Miandrivazo, where the boat trip to Belo sur Tsiribihina usually departs.

Overnight stay in Morondava.
Transfer to Bekopaka village by private car to reach Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, located in the Melaky Region of northwest Madagascar. The national park centres on two geological formations: the Great Tsingy and the Little Tsingy.
Board two ferry boats in succession and pass by Belo sur Tsiribihina.
Overnight stay in Bekopaka (B&B).
After breakfast, drive to the park office and start the day's activities in the park.
Ride a canoe to visit the gorge of the Manambolo River. See the cave, stalactites, stalagmites, and the famous family tomb of the Vazimba, who lived in the Tsingy area during the 17th century.
After canoeing, hike through the Little Tsingy and admire a labyrinth of limestone caves.
The hike leads you to the highest point of the Little Tsingy for a panoramic view of this amazing formation.
After the hike, drive back to your hotel for lunch.
Visit the village of Bekopaka to see the population's daily activities and learn about the lifestyle of a remote village in Madagascar.
Late in the afternoon, walk back to your hotel.

Have an early breakfast in the morning.
After breakfast, drive to the Big Tsingy.
The Big Tsingy gate is located 15 km from your hotel, and the drive takes about 1 hour over a dirt road.
Visit the Grand Tsingy. Trek and hike through the immense Grand Tsingy, where you will come across a cathedral of rocks, cracks up to 30 m high, lemurs, birds, and views from the high roof of the Big Tsingy. The Great Tsingy and Little Tsingy are the two main geological formations in the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park area.
The trek through the Tsingy lasts 4 to 5 hours. You need to be strong and fit enough to climb up and down the limestone hills.
After the trek, drive back to your hotel.
Bringing some snacks is highly recommended when trekking through the Big Tsingy.
Hard shoes are mandatory, and sunscreen can help protect you from the sun.
After the trek, drive back to your hotel and have lunch. Usually, visitors have lunch very late, at approximately 2:00 or even 3:00 pm.
Overnight stay in Bekopaka (B&B).
After breakfast, drive back to Morondava.
Stop again in Belo for lunch.
Board two ferry boats again on the way back to Morondava.
Visit the unique Baobabs in Love and take pictures.
Stop at the famous Avenue of the Baobabs to admire the sunset and take plenty of photos.
Late in the afternoon, drive slowly to Morondava. Usually, visitors arrive in Morondava around 7:00 pm.
Enjoy time at the beach.
Visit Kimony Reserve to see more animals such as lemurs, crocodiles, tortoises, wild pigs, and fish eagles.
Visit the local market during the city tour.
Transfer from your hotel to the airport in Morondava.
Fly from Morondava to Antananarivo.
Transfer from the airport in Antananarivo to your hotel in Antananarivo.

Depending on the season:
During the dry season, from August to December, you need to bring light clothing.
During the rainy season, from December to March, you need to bring a raincoat.
During the winter, from April to July, you need to bring warm clothing.
In all seasons, you have to wear hard shoes while trekking, especially when you trek through Tsingy National Park.
Do not forget to bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and a flashlight. Sometimes, the power does not work 24/7 in the countryside of Madagascar.
Hiring a local guide is mandatory when you visit any park in Madagascar.
If you bring USD bills, make sure they were issued after 2010. In Madagascar, no money changer company accepts USD bills issued before 2010.
The park is a high spot of endemism and diversity. Eleven species of lemurs are listed there, along with five families of bats and 103 species of birds. The number of reptiles and amphibians is also high, as Bemaraha has 34 endemic species.
Wearing a face mask is still mandatory in crowded and confined places.
A Covid-19 vaccination pass is required at the airport.
