Day 01

Kuala Lumpur Heritage and Batu Caves Tour

  • Meet and greet your tour guide at your Kuala Lumpur city hotel, or any other agreed-upon location, at 9.00 am.
  • Proceed on a Kuala Lumpur city walking tour to see:
    • the indo-Moorish architecture of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, built in 1897,
    • Merdeka Square,
    • Masjid Jamek, built in 1909,
    • Sze Ya Temple, built in 1864, and
    • the River of Life.
  • Have a local Malaysian lunch. Afterwards, visit the National Museum, built in 1963. The museum houses four exhibition galleries featuring Malaysia's history and rich cultural diversity.
  • Head to the Malaysian King's palace, Istana Negara. Its golden domes and Islamic-style architecture were constructed from November 2007 to September 2011 at a cost of RM812 million. This is a photo stop at the main gate only.
  • Make another photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers.
  • Continue to the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, where the finest Malaysian pewter is crafted.
  • Last but not least, visit Batu Caves to discover the home of the Hindu shrine, the most famous cave landmark in Kuala Lumpur. Ascend 272 steps to reach the top, where you can admire the limestone formations and watch devotees pray at their shrines.
  • Return by 5.00 pm to where you met.
