Day 01

Arrival in Coca and Journey to the Lodge

  • Your journey starts with a 25-minute flight from Quito to Coca, where our staff will pick you up and transfer you to the port along the banks of the Napo River. There, your bilingual guide will explain safety procedures before you embark on a 2-hour boat trip on the great Ecuadorian affluent of the Amazon, the Napo River. During the journey, you will get a taste of the amazing Amazon rainforest.
  • At the lodge, the staff will welcome you with refreshing cold drinks before you begin your adventure exploring the most biodiverse green jungle on the planet, the Amazon Rainforest.
  • In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a short walk on the nearby trails or a canoe ride surrounded by wildlife in its natural habitat, with many opportunities to observe colourful birds and have a close encounter with some of the world's second-largest trees, such as kapok trees, as well as mahogany, cedars, and many other plants connected to the culture through their uses in medicine, food, fibre, wood for building houses, and handicrafts. After this pleasant walk, we return to the lodge, where our chef will offer a wide variety of national and international fusion cuisine prepared with local techniques and local organic ingredients, also catering for vegetarians and vegans.
  • Your guide will give a briefing and details about the next day's activities in the Amazon Rainforest while you enjoy drinks and cocktails.
