Old and New Delhi Heritage Tour

  • Meet your tour guide and begin the tour in Old Delhi with the Red Fort. Built by Shahjahan, the builder of the Taj Mahal in Agra, its construction lasted from 1639 to 1648. Please note that it is closed on Mondays.
  • Visit Jama Masjid, built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. It is the largest mosque in India, where 25,000 people can pray in the open courtyard at any time. The mosque measures 40 meters (130 ft) in length and 27 meters (90 ft) in width.
  • Continue to Raj Ghat. The simple square platform of black marble marks the place where the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was cremated, and you can see the eternal flame burning.
  • Later, explore New Delhi, starting with Humayun's Tomb. It was built by Humayun's widow, Bega Begum, also known as Haji Begum, between 1565 and 1572. It was designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, a Persian architect to Haji Begum in the 16th century, and features a beautiful Char Bagh garden. The building is made of red sandstone and white marble.
  • See India Gate, the memorial to soldiers who died in the First World War, built in 1921.
  • Proceed to the President Palace. Designed and developed by the famous English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944), it is the official residence of the President of India. Lastly, visit Qutub Minar, one of the tallest minarets at 72.5 meters.
