Day 01

Edfu and Kom Ombo Temple Excursion

Meet your tour guide, who will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor or Aswan at 5:00 a.m. in a private modern air-conditioned car and drive to Edfu.
Arrive in Edfu and visit the majestic temple dedicated to Horus, considered by many to be the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian mythology, this was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus avenged the murder of his father, Osiris, by killing Seth. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Transfer to the Temple of Kom Ombo, which stands on high ground overlooking the Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance, with each one dedicated to a different divinity: Haroeris with his falcon head and Sobek with his crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honour of two deities: the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris, or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Kom Ombo is also known for its huge sugar cane.
