Edfu and Kom Ombo Temple Excursion
- Meet your tour guide, who will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor or Aswan at 5:00 a.m. in a private modern air-conditioned car and drive to Edfu.
- Arrive in Edfu and visit the majestic temple dedicated to Horus, considered by many to be the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian mythology, this was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus avenged the murder of his father, Osiris, by killing Seth. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
- Transfer to the Temple of Kom Ombo, which stands on high ground overlooking the Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance, with each one dedicated to a different divinity: Haroeris with his falcon head and Sobek with his crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honour of two deities: the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris, or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Kom Ombo is also known for its huge sugar cane.
- Return to your hotel by 6:00 p.m. in the evening.
