The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

  • Your 6-day Uganda Wildlife Safari begins with pickup from Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Accommodation will be either Cassia Lodge Kampala or Booma Guest House Entebbe (upmarket and mid-range), or Red Chilli Hideaway (budget, bed only). Dinner is included, and you will be briefed on the full itinerary for the safari.
2
Day 02

Ziwa Rhino Trekking and Transfer to Murchison Falls

  • Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking, followed by lunch after the trek. Continue to Murchison Falls and visit the spectacular top of the falls, where you can witness the beauty of the Nile as it compresses from up to 1 km wide through a 7-meter canyon and drops 45 meters with a thunderous roar, creating a beautiful rainbow and plume of spray. Overnight and dinner will be at Para Safari Lodge or Chobe Safari Lodge (upmarket), Fort Murchison Lodge or Murchison River Lodge (mid-budget), or Red Chilli Campsite (budget, bed only). Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
3
Day 03

Game Drive, Nile Boat Cruise, and Top of the Falls Hike

  • Begin the day with a cup of African coffee, then cross the Nile by ferry to the northern part of Murchison Falls National Park with your Uganda wildlife guide. Look out for elephants, lions, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, and hyenas. If you are lucky, you may also spot a leopard. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch, then set off on a boat cruise upstream along the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, stopping just 10 meters from the Devil's Cauldron.
  • Along this 17 km stretch, marvel at hippos and crocodiles, and you may also see elephants, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and more crocodiles. This area is also rich in birdlife, including the Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican, bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork. After the boat ride, leave the boat and hike steeply to the top of the falls in approximately 1 hour. See where the world's longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment and plunges into a frothing pool 43 m below. Your driver-guide will be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge. Overnight and dinner will be at Para Safari Lodge or Chobe Safari Lodge (upmarket), Fort Murchison Lodge or Murchison River Lodge (mid-budget), or Red Chilli Campsite (budget, bed only). Meal plan: lunch and dinner.

Kibale Forest National Park is one of the beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda and is home to our closest living relatives, the endangered chimpanzee, the threatened red colobus monkey, and the rare L'Hoest's monkey. The forest also boasts one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa, totaling over 13 species, including the black-and-white colobus, blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkey, bush babies, and pottos.
  • After lunch, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided walk around the swamp, giving you the chance to see a wide range of flora and fauna. View a variety of butterflies, bird species, and other insects. Continue with a tour of the crater region around Ndali Lodge, and you may also stop at a tea plantation along the road if you wish.
