The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  • After arriving at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by our company driver/tour guide and transferred to Mbarara, 283 km from Kampala, via Masaka. Along the way, you will stop at the Equator crossing for snacks and photography. Continue your journey with a lunch break at Regency Hotel or Agip Motel Mbarara, then proceed to Bwindi National Park for your safari adventure to track the rare mountain gorillas in their natural vegetation habitat.
  • You will arrive in the evening and then embark on a guided nature walk around the nearby communities. Afterward, transfer to your lodge or hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Gorilla Forest Camp, Bwindi Resort, Volcanoes (high-end/luxurious accommodation), Buhoma Lodge, Engagi Lodge, Lake Kitandara Tents, Silverback Lodge (medium-class accommodation), or Buhoma Local Community Bandas (low-budget/basic accommodation), depending on the location of the gorilla permit the client has to trek.

Day 02

Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

  • Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast, then transfer to the park headquarters for a short briefing on the dos and don'ts around the mountain gorillas. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 individuals and proceed with an experienced ranger guide into the forest to search for the mountain gorillas for 3-5 hours. Once you meet them, you will spend one hour taking photos and enjoying this memorable encounter.
  • Return to your lodge or hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Gorilla Forest Camp, Bwindi Resort, Volcanoes (high-end/luxurious accommodation), Buhoma Lodge, Engagi Lodge, Lake Kitandara Tents, Silverback Lodge (medium-class accommodation), or Buhoma Local Community Bandas (low-budget/basic accommodation).

Day 03

Departure Transfer to Kampala or Entebbe

  • Wake up, have breakfast, and then begin your transfer with packed lunch to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport to board your flight back home.

  • Do not visit the gorillas if you have a cold or any other infectious illness.
  • The minimum age for tracking is 15 years.
  • Human waste should be buried 30 cm (12") deep.
  • The maximum number of visitors is eight persons per gorilla group.
