Day 01

Game Drive and Rhino Walk in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park

• Meet your tour guide in Livingstone and head to Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park.
• Arrive at the park and begin the Mosi-Oa-Tunya Rhino Game Drive with a knowledgeable guide from Victoria Falls. Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park encompasses Victoria Falls in Zambia, Livingstone, and stretches some 12 kilometres along the riverbanks of the upper Zambezi.
• See white rhino, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, zebra, and several antelope species that flourish here. Elephants also often visit the park, swimming back and forth across the river.
• Observe how the park contains a mix of riverine forest, mopane woodland, and grassland, which provides a variety of habitats for numerous bird species.

• What makes this park unique in Zambia is that it's the only wildlife area with white rhinos. These are closely protected from poachers by the scouts from the DNPW (Department of National Parks and Wildlife). This little sanctuary is free from predators. This, in combination with its manmade boundaries, guarantees an abundance of wildlife throughout the year. In addition to the migratory elephants, wildlife including white rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, waterbuck, impala, wildebeest, zebra, bushbuck, warthogs, monkeys, baboons, hippos, and crocodiles are residents in the park all year round. Within this park is the Old Drift Crossing Point and Cemetery, where the first European settlers were buried. Historically, the Old Drift was where ox-wagons were floated across the Zambezi before there was a bridge.
• Please note that this park is easily accessible from Livingstone town. You can explore parts of the park by vehicle (self-drive or on a game-viewing safari), on foot on a guided walking safari, and also by boat on a Zambezi river cruise. The visit is a great activity for families, for those who would like a taste of safari, or for travellers who are only a couple of hours away from 'town life' but don't have time to travel further afield. A game drive in Livingstone is indeed a safari not to miss.
