Day 01
Journey from Lima to the Lost Pyramids of Caral
- Meet your tour guide and begin the adventure very early in the morning. Travel by private transport to the north of the department of Lima along the North Pan-American Highway. Along the way, observe the coasts of the Pacific Ocean, foggy areas, deserts, fertile valleys, and picturesque villages until reaching the access to the Supe Valley, the place that saw the birth of the oldest civilization in the Americas: the lost pyramids of Caral.
- Reach the entrance to the valley and continue along a semi-paved road parallel to the Supe River, the source of life for the people of Caral. After 30 minutes on the road, arrive at the Caral River bridge, where the journey continues on foot along a 1 km path to the pyramids.
- Arrive at the entrance to the archaeological complex, register, and begin the guided tour with a local guide, who will provide detailed information about the site. Visit the pyramids, roads, and residences. The guided tour of the archaeological complex lasts approximately 2 hours.
- Take pictures at the end of the tour, shop at the craft stores, and visit the interpretation room.
- Return, and then the guide will take you to the best option for lunch in a local restaurant.
- Head back to the meeting point in Lima.
