Day 02

Choose Between Lobos Island or Kicker Rock

  • Have breakfast at the hotel. You will have the option of joining one of these two excursions, so please let us know your choice when booking your trip.
  • Option one: Lobos Island - hiking. After a 30-minute boat ride from the port, you will arrive at Lobos Island, which, as its name suggests, is home to a large sea lion colony. But that is not the only attraction on this half-day tour. While hiking and snorkelling on the island, you may also spot blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas, and frigate birds. During the snorkelling session, you can often see marine iguanas feeding, as well as rays and turtles on the sandy bottom that separates Lobos Island from the mainland of San Cristóbal. This tour includes a stop at Playa Ochoa.
  • Option two: Kicker Rock - snorkelling. Visit the famous Kicker Rock (León Dormido), a volcanic formation rising from the ocean. Here, you will be able to snorkel with sharks, rays, turtles, and, if you are lucky, even hammerhead sharks. After lunch on the boat, continue to a beautiful, pristine beach, where you will have time to relax before returning to the port in the afternoon.

Overnight in San Cristóbal.

Española Island Wildlife and Gardner Bay Snorkelling

  • Have breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide at 7:45 am at Puerto Baquerizo port and get ready for a 2-hour navigation to Española Island. Along the way, you will see some of the Galapagos' most iconic wildlife, including the Galapagos albatross (only during mating season, from March to January), blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and colorful Española iguanas. Other wildlife that may be seen includes waved albatrosses, red-billed tropicbirds, Galapagos hawks, Sally Lightfoot crabs, sea lions, sea turtles, hammerhead sharks, and rays.
  • Return to the boat and continue towards Gardner Islet. There, you will get your snorkelling equipment ready - mask and fins - to explore the waters of Gardner Bay. Swim alongside sea lion pups, Galapagos sharks, colorful fish, and marine iguanas. A box lunch will be served on the boat at 14:00, as these parts of the islands are uninhabited. Return to Puerto Baquerizo is scheduled for around 17:00.
