Day 01
Southern Osaka Highlights from Mozu Tombs to Kaiyukan
- Meet your tour guide at Osaka Station South Gate Park at 9:00 a.m. Exit the central ticket gate, go straight to the right, and after passing the Daimaru Department Store, you will reach South Gate Square. The landmark is the water clock. From there, travel from Osaka Station to Mozu Station via Mikunigaoka Station.
- See the Mozu Kofun, the giant tomb of an ancient emperor in Sakai. It is one of the world's three largest tombs and was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2019. Admission is 2,000 yen for adults and 100 yen for those under 18 years old.
- At 11:00 a.m., move from Mozu Station to Shin-Imamiya Station via Mikunigaoka Station and Tennouji.
- Head to the fishing restaurant Turikichi at 12:00. Here, you can also experience fishing and eat the fish you catch. Lunch costs approximately 3,000-5,000 yen, depending on the fish caught and the meal served.
- At 2:00 p.m., enjoy shopping in Shinsekai or visit Tsutenkaku Tower, the symbol of Osaka. Admission to the middle-upper observatory is 900 yen for adults and 400 yen for children. The Tower Slider costs 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for children.
- At 2:30 p.m., begin travelling towards Kaiyukan. Go from Shin-Imamiya to Osaka Harbor Station via Bentenchou Station, followed by a 10-minute walk.
- Visit Kaiyukan Aquarium at 3:30 p.m., one of the world's largest aquariums in Osaka. You can encounter plenty of excitement in this huge aquarium, where large whale sharks swim leisurely, and in the areas where you can experience nature. It takes about 90 to 120 minutes to go around the aquarium once. Admission is 2,400 yen for adults and 1,200 yen for children.
- Return to Osaka Station or end the tour at Osaka Harbor Station at 4:00 p.m.
