Climbing Mount Rinjani is one of the best adventure experiences in Indonesia. Standing at 3,726 meters above sea level, Rinjani is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia, offering spectacular natural scenery ranging from vast savannas and dramatic volcanic craters to a breathtaking crater lake.

Prior Evening- Arrive in Senaru
Day 0 – Arrival in Senaru & Trekking Preparation
Most hikers arrive in Senaru village one day before the trek to rest and prepare their equipment.
Activities include:
- Explanation of the trekking itinerary
- Safety briefing with the guide
- Trekking equipment check
- Check-in at a hotel or homestay
Senaru is also well known as one of the main gateways to Mount Rinjani National Park.

Day 1- Trek to the Sembalun Crater Rim
In the morning, participants travel to Sembalun village, the starting point of the trek.
After registration at the national park office, the trek begins across a wide savanna landscape with spectacular mountain views.
Trekking route for the first day:
- Post 1 – Pemantauan
- Post 2 – Tengengean (lunch break)
- Post 3 – Pada Balong
In the afternoon, hikers reach Sembalun crater rim(2,639 m).
From this campsite you can enjoy incredible views of:
- Segara Anak Lake
- volcano
Participants spend the night camping while enjoying a beautiful sunset.
Trekking duration: approximately 7–8 hours

Day 2- Go to the Mt. Rinjani Summit
The summit hike begins around 02:30 AM.
Hikers start the challenging ascent to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m). The final section consists of volcanic sand and loose gravel, making it demanding but rewarding.
The sunrise from the summit is truly unforgettable.
From the top you can see:
- Lombok Island
- The Rinjani crater
- Segara Anak Lake
- Mountains in Bali such as Mount Agung
After enjoying the view and taking photos, hikers descend back to Pelawangan Sembalun for breakfast.
The trek continues down to Segara Anak Lake, where hikers arrive in the afternoon and set up camp near the lakeshore.
Activities at the lake include:
- Relaxing in the natural hot springs
- Enjoying the peaceful lake scenery
- Fishing or nature photography
Camping beside the lake is one of the most memorable experiences of the entire Rinjani trek.

Day 3- Visit the Senaru Crater Rim
The morning begins with breakfast by the lake while enjoying the calm natural atmosphere.
Hikers may also take another relaxing dip in the hot springs before continuing the trek.
After lunch, the journey continues to Pelawangan Senaru (2,641 m).
The hike takes approximately 3–4 hours with stunning scenery along the trail.
From Pelawangan Senaru you can see the north coast of Lombok and the famous Gili islands:
- Gili Trawangan
- Gili Meno
- Gili Air
Participants camp here for the night and enjoy another beautiful sunset.

Day 4: Descent to Senaru Village
The final day begins with breakfast at the campsite.
Afterward, hikers descend to Senaru village through lush tropical rainforest.
Along the trail, it is common to see wildlife such as the black monkeys that inhabit the forest around Mount Rinjani.
The descent takes approximately 5 hours.
Upon arrival in Senaru, the trekking program officially ends
