The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Dushanbe and City Exploration

Meet your tour guide at Dushanbe International Airport and transfer to the hotel.
Complete your hotel registration, settle in, and head out to explore the city of Dushanbe.

Day 02

Hissar Fortress, Varzob Gorge, and Morguzor Gorge

Visit the Hissar Fortress, have lunch featuring national cuisine, and continue towards the Varzob Gorge. Travel through the mountain road and tunnels until you reach the Sarvoda fork.
Drive into the Morguzor Gorge and continue along the mountain road to the alpine camp

Day 03

Hike to Allouddin Lake and Camp by the Shore

Have breakfast at 8:30. After breakfast, begin a 1.5-hour hike to the lake.
Set up camp on the shore of the lake and have lunch.
Walk around and learn about the history and legend of Allouddin Lake, which is flanked by several of the highest peaks of the Fann Mountains. Allauddin Lake is among the most mesmerizing sites, surrounded by several other pristine lakes. The Kulikalon Lakes are another heavenly place. These idyllic lakes are spread out over a plateau at an altitude of 2800 meters, stretching over several square kilometres against a backdrop of towering rock cliffs.
Enjoy a bonfire under the stars.

Day 04

Hike to Allouddin Pass and Descend to Kulikalon Lakes

Have breakfast at 8:30 and prepare for a hiking trip towards the Allouddin Pass. Have lunch on the pass while taking in the sight of the mountain beauties.
Descend towards the Kulikalon lakes and camp on the shore of the lake.

Dinner at 18:30.

Day 05

Artuch Descent and Panjrud Cultural Visit

Have breakfast at 8:00. After that, descend towards the village of Artuch.
Transfer to Panjrud for a visit to the museum and tomb of the great poet and writer, the founder of classical Tajik literature, A. Rudaki. Stop for lunch at a roadside restaurant.
Arrive in Dushanbe by 17:00.

Know before you go

The Fann Mountains in northwest Tajikistan are one of the most scenic parts of the country. The region is home to beautiful lakes and green valleys tucked between mountains over 5000 meters high. Trekking opportunities are endless, and exploring the entire area at once is impossible. Located only a few hours from Dushanbe, the Fann Mountains offer a quick getaway from the bustle and heat of the capital. They are particularly renowned for their magnificent lakes. Iskanderkul is the largest lake and reaches depths of 72 meters. Named after Alexander the Great, Iskanderkul is one of the iconic places of Tajikistan. Another iconic place is Allauddin Lake. The Kulikalon Lakes are another heavenly place. These idyllic lakes are spread out over a plateau at an altitude of 2800 meters that stretches over several square kilometres against a background of towering rock cliffs.
The Fann Mountains ecosystem has its own character regarding vegetation and wildlife. The high mountain crests in the area form natural barriers that allow unique biodiversity to develop. Juniper trees are most characteristic of the Fann Mountains and abound along rivers in the low-lying green valleys. Above 3000 meters, the vegetation becomes scarcer, and grasslands and barren rock slopes characterize the landscape. Animal life is diverse, although larger wildlife is somewhat rare to encounter. Brown bears can occasionally be spotted, for example along the shores of Iskanderkul.
