The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Adıyaman and Sunset at Mt. Nemrut

  • Meet the tour guide at Adıyaman Airport and drive to Kâhta by minibus for the magnificent sunset. On the way, visit Karakuş Tumulus, built by Antiochus and Aka I for their mother, Isias.
  • Continue towards Cendere Bridge, built by the Romans. Then go to the entrance of Kâhta Castle and take photos.
  • Visit Arsemia, the summer capital of the Commagene Kingdom, and head to Mt. Nemrut, where you will have the chance to see the tumulus and statues of gods built by Antiochus, the young and powerful King of the Commagene Kingdom. Hear all these stories from your guide. You will never forget the sunset in this magical place, where the sun sets with one of the most beautiful views in the world.

Drive to Urfa for accommodation.

Day 02

Sanlıurfa Sacred Sites and Museums

  • Have breakfast at the hotel, and drive to Sanlıurfa.
  • Visit the Halil-ur Rahman Mosque, Ayn Zeliha (Balıklı Lake), and Rizvaniye Mosque in the city centre, as well as the cave where Prophet Abraham was born. Also see Sipahi Bazaar, Kazzaz Market, Hacı Kamil Bazaar, Hüseyniye Bazaar, Naccar Bazaar, the Historical Customs Inn, Ulucami, and the Kitchen Museum.
  • Head to the Archaeology Museum and the Mosaic Museum.

Day 03

Göbekli Tepe and Ancient Harran

  • Have breakfast at the hotel, then drive to Göbekli Tepe, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in human history, dating back 12,000 years. It is thought to be the first pilgrimage centre, deeply shaking the truths of known written history. Göbekli Tepe, one of the oldest temples known, is located in the Mesopotamia region. It provides important data on religious beliefs in hunter-gatherer societies. Considered in architectural and socio-economic terms, it gives information about how the people of the period created a sacred space in order to live their groundbreaking beliefs and enlightens us about their religion, religious symbols, technology, and sciences.

  • Drive to Harran and visit the earthen Harran houses with conical roofs, the ancient ruins of Harran University, which is considered to be the first university in the world, and the historical Harran fortress from the time when Harran was the capital of the Umayyads.   • Transfer to the airport.
