2-Day São Miguel Highlights Tour with Furnas and Sete Cidades

We start the tour with a visit to a pineapple plantation in Ponta Delgada, followed by a stop at the Vista do Rei viewpoint, from where you can admire the beauty of the blue and green lake. Descending into the interior of this volcano, we stop at the Cerrado das Freiras viewpoint and in the center of the picturesque parish of Sete Cidades for a regional lunch. In the center, you can also visit the main church of São Nicolau.

After lunch, we continue to the Escalvado viewpoint for a magnificent view of the sea, Ponta da Ferraria, and the Mosteiros Islets. We then head towards Ribeira Grande on the north coast to visit the historical center and Jardim do Paraíso. There is also an optional stop at the Mulher de Capote liqueur store for a traditional liqueur tasting.

Next, we drive up to the volcano of Lagoa do Fogo and stop at the viewpoints of Lagoa do Fogo and Pico da Barrosa. These provide wonderful views over the lagoon and the entire western part of the island. Return to the departure point.

Departure with a stop in Vila Franca do Campo, the island's first capital, followed by a stop at Vale Encantado or Furnas "Caldeiras". Optionally, you can visit the unmissable botanical garden Parque Terra Nostra for a pleasant walk, with the possibility of bathing in the thermal pool (entrance not included).

We then continue towards the area by the lake where the stew is made, so you can observe the removal of the stew from the volcanic soil. At lunch, we will serve the famous Cozido das Furnas with drinks in one of our partner restaurants. After lunch, we ascend to the panoramic viewpoint of Pico do Ferro, which offers a privileged view over the area of the caldeiras, the lake, and the town.

Visit Nordeste with a stop at its ex-libris, Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, and its famous waterfall, Véu da Noiva. Return by the north coast with a stop at the factory and tea plantation to learn about and taste the last 100% natural tea on the planet. The last stop will be at the iconic Santa Iria Belvedere, with a splendid view over the entire north coast. Return to the departure point.
