Day 01

Hobbiton Movie Set and Waitomo Glowworm Caves

Meet your tour guide, who will pick you up from your hotel by 6:30 am. Then join a Hobbiton tour at around 9:30 am for about 2.5 hours. See the iconic Bag End, the Party Tree, the Green Dragon Inn, and more, while your guide shares fascinating stories and trivia about the making of the films and the details of the set.
Have lunch at a nice cafeteria at Shire's Rest.
Arrive at Waitomo Cave and join an hour-long guided tour of the cave. Enjoy the amazing lights of the glowworms as you walk through the caves with your guide, who will explain the history and geology of the area. Marvel at the stalactites, stalagmites, and other cave features.
Head back to Auckland at around 7 pm.
