Day 2: Fly From Kathmandu To Lukla (2,840m/9,316ft) And Trek To Phakding (2,610m/8,561ft)
You'll be flying to Lukla today. An exciting flight to Lukla, a picturesque mountaintop Sherpa settlement, starts your Everest adventure. Meet the rest of the team after you get in Lukla, sort through your possessions, pack your belongings, and head out on your adventure.
Descend towards the Dudh Koshi River through the Chauri Kharka settlement. Phakding (2,610m), a small Sherpa settlement hidden in the lush Dudh Koshi Valley, is reached through a picturesque path that follows the river's bank. On the way, you'll see Khumbila, a holy peak worshipped by the Sherpas. No one is permitted to climb this sacred mountain, making it one of the few unclimbed summits in the Khumbu area.
If you're not too fatigued, stroll through the town and interact with the inhabitants, or swing by one of the cafés for a hot beverage. (Overnight in Phakding.)Duration: 35 minutes flight, 3-4 hours (8 km) trek
-
Day 3: Trek From Phakding To Namche Bazar (3,440m/11,284ft)
Set out for Namche Bazaar, also renowned as Nepal's "Sherpa capital." The trail passes the Dudh Koshi, a milky glacial river up to Monjo. Walk across a suspension bridge, and through a mesmerizing pine forest, you'll cross numerous suspension bridges, including the well-known Hillary Suspension Bridge.
Arrange your permits for inspection before you approach the Sagarmatha National Park entrance. Trek down alongside the Dudh Koshi River to Jorsale. After some rest, it's a tough climb uphill to Namche Bazaar, the Everest Region's economic powerhouse; brace yourself as you catch your first glimpse of Mount Everest in all its grandeur from Tope Danda.
Overnight in Namche Bazaar.Walking Distance: 6-7 hours (10.5 km) trek
-
Day 4: First Acclimatization Day At Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,284ft)
Enjoy an entire day at Namche Bazaar. This is your first acclimatisation day; as you ascend, your body must acclimate to the thinner air at greater elevations. The village has various vantage points for acclimatisation hikes.
Some of the finest bakeries, cafés, restaurants, shops, and the only ATM in the Everest Region can be found here. The 'Saturday Market' at Namche is well-known throughout all of Khumbu. Traders from all over the Everest region travel to Namche on Saturdays to exhibit their items at the Saturday Market. Interact with the friendly locals or hike up to any of the vantage points for stunning views of the Himalayas.
An early morning hike at any vantage point will give you a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. The sun's rays illuminate the snow-covered peaks of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and Lhotse. Explore the Sherpa Culture Museum to learn about Sherpa culture and customs.
An upward hike from Shyangboche Airport to Everest View Hotel provides an excellent acclimatization hike, offering close-up views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam. You could hike to Khumjung and Kunde settlements if you want to or visit Sir Edmund Hillary's School, the first in the Everest Region at Khumjung. Khumjung Monastery, which is almost 400 years old, has what is said to be the scalp of Yeti, the abominable snowman.Walking Distance: 4-5 hours (6 km) trek
-
Day 5: Trek From Namche To Tengboche (3,860m/12,661ft)
The trail today provides amazing sights of the Himalayan ranges. Some of the Himalayan giants you will view when trekking are Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde. This hike is notable because of the route through juniper and rhododendron forests with the gigantic peaks towering overhead. Tengboche, a Sherpa settlement, is the destination for today's trek. Tengboche presents a close-up view of Ama Dablam, one of the world's most picturesque peaks. Tengboche Monastery, the Khumbu region's oldest Buddhist monastery, looms over the settlement. Explore the monastery and attend to the monks' trance-inducing hum and chanting.
Furthermore, the golden rays of the sun brushing over the snowy mountains, notably Ama Dablam and Thamserku, are not to be missed at dawn and dusk.Walking Distance: 5-6 hours (10 km) trek
-
Day 6: Trek From Tengboche To Dingboche (4,410m/14,465ft)
You'll pass the plains and the Imja Khola (River) on your way to Pangboche. The hamlet boasts the region's largest and tallest permanent settlement of Sherpa; the unique Sherpa village ambience and local cuisine will keep you entertained.
In the afternoon, proceed to Dingboche. The views of Island Peak and Ama Dablam are spectacular on the way.Walking Distance: 5-6 hours (11 km) trek
-
Day 7: Second Acclimatization Day At Dingboche (4,410m/14,465ft)
Take a day off at Dingboche to acclimatize to the high altitude. This is your second acclimatization day, and there's plenty to do here for trekkers and climbers on their way to Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, or ImjaTse. After breakfast, take an acclimatization hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100m) near the village. It is an uphill trek with no challenging aspects. There may be some loose rocks, and you may need to watch your step while you scramble on certain portions.
Nangkatshang or Nagarjun, named after a Buddhist hermit nestles on the hilltop, is one of the outstanding viewpoints in the Khumbu region.
One may experience breathtaking 360-degree views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega, Thamserku, and other peaks. The finest views are of Ama Dablam (the entire mountain can be seen from the base to the top) and Island Peak. You may also get a close-up glimpse of the Imja glacier from here. In the late afternoon, you may relax or walk around the village.Walking Distance: 4-5 hours (4.5 km) trek
-
Day 8: Trek From Dingboche To Lobuche (4,910m/16,105ft)
Continue through steep mountain terrain to Lobuche, a tiny village with spectacular views of Lobuche, Pumori, and Nuptse. Due to the high altitude, walking may be difficult to take frequent rest and stop for lunch along the route in the little settlement of Thukla (4,600m).
At Thukla Pass, you'll pass by memorial stupas constructed in memory of mountaineers who died while ascending Mount Everest; among the stone tributes are those honouring alpinists Scott Fischer, Rob Hall, and climbing record-holder Sherpa. The late Babu Chiri Sherpa is notable. The ill-fated Everest trip that claimed the lives of Scott Fischer and Rob Hall was chronicled in John Krakauer's book "Into Thin Air" and adapted into a feature-length film titled "Everest."
The peaks that separate Nepal and Tibet can be seen from the trail. Lobuche consists of a few local dwellings and teahouses that provide modest services.Walking Distance: 5-6 hours (8 km) trek
-
Day 9: Trek From Lobuche To Gorak Shep (5,140m/16,860ft) and visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft)
Your goal of reaching the base of the world's highest peak has come true today, the hike will take you to EBC, the destination you've been wanting to reach since the beginning of your adventure.
Today's trek is one of the most memorable of your whole adventure despite the fact that it is hard and challenging; physically, you may get weaker as the elevation increases and the oxygen level declines. Follow your guide and take it slowly and steadily.
Gorak Shep may be reached in a few hours. Take a break, leave your heavy belongings at your teahouse, and climb up to Everest Base Camp.Walking Distance: 7-8 hours (12 km) trek
-

After breakfast, hike to Kala Patthar, the Everest Region's most popular overlook; at 5,550 meters, Kala Patthar is the highest point on your trek.
Since the top of Mount Everest is not visible from Everest Base Camp, hikers frequently travel to Kala Patthar to enjoy a closer look at the world's highest mountains, Mount Pumori, Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse encircle Kala Patthar with snowy walls. Indulge yourself in a 360-degree panorama of these Himalayan vistas. From the top of Kala Patthar, the sun's flaming rays illuminate Mount Everest's snowy peak. Return back to Gorak Shep later and continue to Pheriche.Walking Distance: 6-7 hours (12 km) trek
-
Day 11: Trek From Pheriche To Namche (3,440m/11,284ft)
