Day 01

Full-Day Moremi Game Reserve Safari from Maun

• Meet your tour guide at 5:30 a.m. for pickup from your stay in Maun.
• Drive on the tarred road toward the eastern side. After Shorobe village, continue on gravel roads for about 100 km to the South Gate, a journey of around 3 hours. After passing the buffalo fence, you may begin to see wild animals before reaching the entrance to the Moremi Game Reserve. Enjoy a picnic breakfast at a good spot near the South Gate before starting the safari.
• Begin your game drive in the reserve for several hours with your professional guide, who will answer questions and explain anything seen during that particular time.
• Find a good location, which may be the hippo pool or another fascinating place, and enjoy your lunch.
• Look out for lions, cheetahs, wildebeest, leopards, elephants, packs of wild dogs, zebra, hippos, impala, red lechwe, sitatunga, and many more animals, as well as a variety of birds.
• Return to Maun, where your guide will drop you off at your place.

What to bring

• Lightweight clothing in neutral colours that blends with the African bush and forest, preferably during summer
• Warm wear such as jackets and jerseys, again in neutral colours, during winter
• Trousers, long-sleeved shirts, and blouses, as these help minimize the chances of mosquito bites
• Closed, comfortable walking shoes or gym shoes are a must in all seasons
• A sun hat, preferably wide-brimmed rather than a baseball cap

Know before you go

• It is highly recommended that clients keep their luggage to a minimum. This is very important when travelling on a safari because of space constraints. On charter aircraft used to transfer clients to and from safari camps, luggage is restricted to 20 kg per person, including all hand luggage and camera equipment. We therefore strongly recommend that you travel with "soft duffel" or backpack-style bags. Please do not bring hard-body or wheeled suitcases, as they will not fit properly in the vehicle or trailer and also will not fit in the luggage compartments of the light aircraft normally used.
• We also strongly recommend that you plan to arrive the day before the safari starts so that you have time to relax and do some shopping if you wish. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the late arrival of flights, adverse weather conditions, or any delays beyond our control.
• Note: We can handle pre- and post-safari accommodation arrangements on your behalf. However, please make accommodation arrangements well in advance of your trip to avoid disappointment and the risk of having to find more expensive lodgings.
