Start with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, followed by a trek through beautiful farm villages and towns to Tirkhedhunga. The itinerary

1
Day 01

Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tirkhedhunga

Your trek starts after a pleasant stop in beautiful Pokhara, enjoying views of Annapurna Himal and Machhapuchare peaks 'Fish Tail.' After breakfast, drive beyond Pokhara Valley to begin the first day's trek into the high hills of Annapurna Himalaya. The drive continues with grand views of Annapurna, passing farm villages and towns.

By the bank of the Modi River, reach Bhirethati, a charming village in the Annapurna region. From here, walk through farm villages on a gentle uphill trail to Hille and Tirkhedhunga for an overnight halt. There, you can enjoy views of beautiful waterfalls near the lodge.

Day 02

Trek Through Rhododendron Forests to Ghorepani

Morning in Tirkhedhunga begins with a steep climb on stone-paved steps to reach Ulleri village. Then continue on a gradual winding trail to Ghorepani, walking through serene and lovely alpine woodland of rhododendron and pine trees. After a great walk in the shade of the woodland, arrive at Ghorepani village.

The Poon people of the Magar tribe, an ethnic hill tribe of Nepal, inhabit Ghorepani. They are also famous as Gorkha soldiers in the UK, India, and other foreign countries. This village, with many good lodges, offers marvellous views of the Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, and Annapurna Himalayan mountains.

The next early morning hike takes you to Poon Hill for sunrise and a panorama of mountains.

Day 03

Sunrise at Poon Hill and Return to Pokhara

Start early before sunrise and hike for an hour to the top of Poon Hill at above 3,210 m. This is the highest point of the Poon Hill via Ghorepani trek. From Poon Hill, catch a stunning sunrise over a panorama of mountains, including Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Annapurna Fang (Vara Shikar), the Annapurna range of peaks, and majestic Machhapuchare Himal 'Fish Tail,' one of the unclimbed and virgin peaks of the Himalaya.

The panorama also includes Mt. Manaslu with Lamjung extending towards Ganesh Himal on the eastern horizon. After a marvellous photo session, head back to Ghorepani for breakfast.

Afterwards, continue trekking on a long downhill trail through forested rhododendron trees with views of the mountains. The walk then descends to the Modi River, passing the nice village of Bhirethati. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara and its serene Phewa Lake.
