Nizwa Fort, Birkat Al Mauz, and Jebel Akhdar
- We depart from Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman.
- Visit the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the fort is a museum showcasing the fort's history and the surrounding area.
- As you walk through the fortress, you will see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was once used as a military base to withstand some of the hardest attacks and sieges.
- Next to the fortress is the large Nizwa Souq, a local marketplace offering a variety of goods, including jewellery, pottery, fish, and meats. The list goes on.
- Afterwards, we drive to the foot of Jebel Akhdar, to an old village called Birkat Al Mauz, and then visit the Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn, one of the five irrigation systems recognized by UNESCO.
