Yerevan to Khor Virap, Areni, and Jermuk

Departure from Yerevan at 8:30.
Visit Khor Virap Monastery at 9:30. Khor Virap's notability as a monastery and pilgrimage site is attributed to the fact that Gregory the Illuminator was initially imprisoned here for about 14 years by King Tiridates III of Armenia.
At 11:50, reach Areni. Areni is best known for its wine production, with most of the wine produced locally from the nearby village of Getap.
