The itinerary

Day 01

Colombo/Negombo to Yala National Park Safari

Meet your professional tour guide at the airport or hotel in Colombo, Negombo, or any hotel on the west coast south of Negombo.
Drive to Yala National Park, about a 5-hour journey from Colombo, with a stop for lunch along the way.
Upon reaching Yala, get into the jeep and head out for an afternoon safari lasting about 3-4 hours.
Afterwards, transfer to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Hibiscus Garden Hotel.

Day 02

Morning Safari and Return to Colombo/Negombo

Early in the morning at 5:00 am, leave for another safari in Yala National Park, which opens at 6:00 am.
After the safari, return to the hotel by around 10:00 am, check out, and depart for Colombo.
Stop midway for refreshments and reach Colombo at around 18:00 hours.

Yala National Park is the second-largest national park on the island and consists of 5 blocks spread over an area of 979 square kilometers (378 square miles). Only 2 blocks are open to visitors, namely Yala Ruhuna and Yala East or Kumana. The park started as a wildlife sanctuary on 23rd March 1900 and was upgraded to a national park on 1st March 1938. It is well known around the world for its leopard density within a small area of land.
