DMZ, Hien Luong Bridge and Vinh Moc Tunnels
At 8:30, your Vietnamese guide will pick you up at your hotel in Huế and drive you to the DMZ by road. Along the way, your guide will recommend stops to see a small church that still shows signs of mortar attacks in the area and to visit former US bases.
As you travel through the DMZ, where some of the bloodiest battles of the Vietnam/American War were fought, your Vietnamese guide will take you across the Ben Hai River on Hien Luong Bridge, which marked the division between North and South Vietnam from 1954 to 1975.
Visit museums containing photographs and memorials of the war before taking a fascinating tour of the Vinh Moc Tunnels, preserved as a monument to the determination of the Vietnamese to continue living in their traditional village areas. Entire villages moved underground and lived in these tunnels and caverns.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at Cua Tung beach and spend some time swimming before returning to Huế at around 4:30 pm.
