Day 01
Hammamet, Zaghouan and Uthina Tour
- Connect with your tour guide in Hammamet or Tunis to begin the itinerary.
- Drive to Hammamet and visit the fortress built by Muslims, later used during the war of independence from the French army in 1956.
- Then, walk through the narrow streets of the medina (old city) and pass by the beach along the paved area attached to the medina's fortification walls.
- Next, head to Zaghouan to visit the Roman Water Temple and the starting point of the natural spring that once served as a source of life for the Carthaginians.
- Have lunch on an ecological farm, where you will be able to see Tunisian ladies preparing fresh Tunisian pastries made from almonds, which you can taste. You will also see others preparing traditional bread, and if it is spring, you may be able to watch the distillation of flowers or oranges.
- Afterwards, proceed to the archaeological site of Uthina.
- On the way, stop near the aqueducts, then continue to the site to explore the coliseum, private houses decorated with Roman mosaics, a public Roman bath, and the temple.
