Day 01

Charents Arch, Geghard, Garni and Khor Virap

• Begin by visiting Charents Arch, a lovely place from where an incredible panorama of the Ararat Valley and Mount Ararat opens up.
• The next stop is the cave-cut Geghard Monastery of the Spear, associated with the spear that wounded Jesus Christ at the Crucifixion.
• Have a chance to enjoy the amazing natural monument of the Stone Symphony in the gorge of the Azat River, as well as Garni Temple, the only Greco-Roman pagan structure in the Lesser Caucasus.
• Eat Armenian flatbread for lunch and attend a lavash master class.
• Then, drive through the mountains around Lake Azat, which is considered a water reservoir.
• Afterwards, head to Khor Virap, the Deep Pit, where Gregory the Illuminator, the founder of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was imprisoned for more than 14 years.
• Lastly, enjoy the legendary views of Mount Ararat and conclude the tour.
