The itinerary

Day 01

Sólheimajökull Glacier Hike and Intro Ice Climb

Meet your tour guide at the Sólheimajökull parking lot, where you will receive your glacier gear, including crampons, harness, helmet, and ice axe. From the parking lot, it is about a 20-minute hike to the base of the glacier.
When you reach the base of the glacier, you will put on your crampons, and your guide will go over glacier safety.
Start the climb on an easy slope to learn the basic skills of ice climbing. The goal is to find 3 different climbing locations to give you different levels of the climb. You do not need any previous climbing experience or exceptional fitness to join this tour. This is an introductory experience, so there is no need to be afraid to try it. Your guides will also show you the wonders of the glacier and tell you about the history of the area.
