3
Day 03

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • Board an early morning scenic flight to Lukla (35 minutes) and have a leisurely breakfast. Meet up with the crew, and after a brief introduction and a quick sorting of your daypack and the main bags, the adventure starts. The trail gradually drops into the Dudh Koshi Valley and passes through the lovely Sherpa villages of Chauri Kharka and Cheplung, then undulates through the villages of Thado Koshi and Ghat, and finally arrives at Phakding.
  • Take in the views of Kusum Kanguru (6367 meters), which can be seen at Thado Koshi just before a small climb. During the day, and on most of the other days on the trek, follow the Dudh Koshi River and pass through a couple of suspension bridges and several mani walls, mani stones, chortens, stupas, and prayer flags with snow-capped mountains in the background. (3 hours)

Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

4
Day 04

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

  • During the day, follow the Dudh Koshi River and cross the river several times on suspension bridges. Views of Thamserku (6608 meters) and the holy mountain Khumbi Yui Lha (5761 meters) reveal themselves for the first time as you trek through the small villages of Tok Tok, Ghat, Benkar, and Monjo. The trail keeps undulating for the whole morning and enters Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. The path drops down to Jorsalle and steadily follows the river for a while until the start of a steep climb with a dramatic suspension bridge, situated more than 50 meters above the river, joining the two different valleys.
  • Catch your first glimpse of Everest (8848 meters), with the Lhotse face in front of it, midway through the climb through the pine forests on the way to Namche Bazaar. This famous town in the lap of the Himalayas also offers the best views of the Kongde Range. (6 hours)

Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

5
Day 05

Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

  • Begin a walk to the twin villages of Khunde (3840 meters) and Khumjung (3780 meters) through Syangboche Airport (3720 meters), considered one of the exciting days of the trek. With the benefit of gaining altitude, this day trip also offers a chance to visit a hospital and school started by Sir Edmund Hillary himself.
  • Take in breathtaking views of Mount Everest (8848 meters), Lhotse (8516 meters), and Ama Dablam (6856 meters). (6 hours)

Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

6
Day 06

Namche Bazaar to Thyangboche

  • Continue the trek on a well-maintained path in the morning with towering mountains in almost every direction.
  • After passing a couple of teahouses at Kyangjuma, the path starts to drop down to the river, passing small teashops in the villages of Sanasa and Lausasa. Finally, it reaches Phunki Tenga at the bottom of the valley. Yet another suspension bridge helps you cross the river at Phunki Tenga, and then an identical climb to Namche awaits. The climb through a thin rhododendron forest finally ends at Thyangboche. Thyangboche is famous for the Thyangboche Monastery, the biggest and most important monastery of the region. Thyangboche also offers stunning panoramic views of Everest with the Lhotse face, Ama Dablam (6856 meters), Khangtega (6685 meters), and the Kongde Range. (6 hours)

Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

7
Day 07

Thyangboche to Dingboche

  • Today, pass through some teahouses at Deboche and, after a brief period on easy terrain, cross the Dudh Koshi once again. A small ascent leads to Pangboche, the village with the oldest monastery in the region.
  • The trek continues in the valley and passes the small villages of Somare and Horse.
  • After Horse, the path drops in and out of a valley, and then a steady walk finally ends the day at Dingboche. At Dingboche, views of another snow-capped pinnacle add to the already impressive list of mountains, as Island Peak (6189 meters), one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal, appears to the north. (5-6 hours)

Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

8
Day 08

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

  • Start a climb on the ridge of Nangkar Tshang for a couple of hours, or choose a hike to Chukkung further into the valley - these are the two options available at Dingboche for acclimatization. The climb on the ridge offers better views of the mountains, along with a good couple of hundred meters of altitude gain.

A leisurely lunch and a good rest can be enjoyed in the afternoon.
Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

9
Day 09

Dingboche to Lobuche via Thukla Pass

  • After a short climb, the trail continues to gradually ascend for most of the morning.
  • After crossing a small river, the trail climbs to Thukla, followed by a steep climb that ends at the top of Thukla Pass (4830 meters). The pass is filled with memorials dedicated to the mountaineers who perished in the mountains of the Khumbu region and offers serene views of the peaks responsible for those memorials.
  • Go for a leisurely walk in the afternoon, which ends the day at Lobuche. (6 hours)

Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

10
Day 10

Lobuche to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp

  • Proceed along the undulating trail and into the Khumbu Glacier for a while.
  • After getting out of the glacier, the path leads to Gorakhshep (5180 meters).
  • Take a brief stop for lunch, then continue on the trail again, which enters the Khumbu Glacier and undulates all the way up to Everest Base Camp.
  • At Base Camp, enjoy close-up views of Nuptse (7861 meters), Pumori (7165 meters), Lingtren (6749 meters), Khumbutse (6665 meters), Changtse (7653 meters), and Lho La (6026 meters).
  • Return to Gorakshep through the same route on the glacier. (6-7 hours)

  • After returning to Gorakshep, walk back to Lobuche via the same route. (3 hours)

Overnight at teahouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

12
Day 12
