Day 01

Barcelona Gothic Quarter and Medieval Landmarks Walk

  • Connect with your tour guide at the meeting point to begin the itinerary.
  • Start walking from Plaça Catalunya along Portal de Los Angeles street, approaching St. Anna Church.
  • From there, continue past the "4 Gats" cafeteria to the Palau de la Música Catalana, the beautiful modernist masterpiece by Lluis Doménech y Montaner. Then head into the Gothic Quarter and along Montcada street, one of the most typical medieval parts of Barcelona, where the famous Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar, the "Cathedral of the Sea," is located nearby.
  • Afterwards, walk through the Gothic streets following the Roman walls, which lead to Barcelona Cathedral and end at the famous Casa de l'Ardiaca.
  • Once you pass Casa de l'Ardiaca, head to the Royal Square, entering the inner courtyard of the Renaissance palace where the famous Archive of the Crown of Aragon is kept. This final stretch also takes you along Bishop street, through St. Jaume Square, and into the Jewish quarter, known as El Call.
  • Lastly, stroll through La Rambla, with a detailed explanation of its main sights.
