Mini Trek on Perito Moreno Glacier
- Pick up at the agreed meeting point in El Calafate. During the journey, information about the area, the glacier, and the excursion will be provided through audio guides in Spanish, English, and Portuguese on comfortable buses.
- Once at the "Bajo de las Sombras" port (Route 11, km 70.9), embark to cross Lake Rico, arriving at the opposite shore after approximately 20 minutes of navigation in front of the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
- Upon disembarking, you will be greeted by the mountain guides, who will lead you to a refuge equipped with sanitary facilities.
- From there, a short walk begins along the lakeshore, including a talk about glaciology in general and the Perito Moreno Glacier in particular.
- Upon reaching the glacier's edge, you will be divided into groups of up to 20 people and fitted with crampons and helmets. Once on the ice, you will receive a brief safety briefing before beginning the hike.
- With the help of the mountain guides, you will enjoy this natural paradise of ice at all times. The walk is of medium difficulty and includes many ups and downs. The glacier trek lasts approximately an hour and a half, during which you will be able to appreciate a variety of typical glacier formations, such as cracks, sinkholes, seracs, lagoons, and more.
- At the end of the walk on the ice, return to the refuge via a footbridge that crosses the exuberant Patagonian Andean forest.
- Embark once again to return to the port and observe the glacier walls.
