Wine Tasting at Armenia Wine and Voskevaz with Gyumri Sightseeing

- At the beginning of our tour, we will go to one of the best wineries in Armenia, the Armenia Wine factory. Built in 2008, it is one of the largest producers and exporters of high-quality wine. About 300 people work with tremendous Armenian and French grape varieties in their laboratory to improve and create wines of high quality and taste. This wonderful winery, built entirely of red stone tuff, is located near the city of Ashtarak, in the small village of Sasunik, 15 km from Yerevan. Inside the factory, which accommodates more than 10,000 tourists every year, you will have the opportunity to see the majestic halls and cellars, taste one of the best wines of Armenia, and optionally visit an interesting museum.
- Next, we will head to the Voskevaz Winery, which means "Golden Vine". It is located in the small village of Voskevaz, in the mountainous Aragatsotn region, against the majestic landscape of Mount Aragats. The winery was founded in 1932 and has maintained its quality standard in the Armenian market for almost a century. The fabulous building of the factory resembles a castle, which was restored in 2004 and is now prepared every year for visits by tourists and wine lovers. The Voskevaz factory uses Armenian grape varieties exclusively for its products and is a pioneer in creating Armenian dessert wines. In the excursion package, you will have a walk around the old and beautiful castle and, during the degustation of the national Armenian wine, hear the exciting history of the plant and the winemaking process.
- After this unforgettable degustation, we will go to the famous second-largest city, Gyumri. It is one of the most ancient settlements in Armenia, famous for its unique architecture, its square, monuments at every turn, and the old city, which we will explore with you. After a beautiful Armenian lunch, visit other main sights of Gyumri, such as the majestic monument of Mother Armenia and the mighty Black Fortress, where the guide will tell you about part of the architecture that takes the form of the Greek goddess of revenge, Nemesis. You will also learn how the Black Fortress protected the western borders of Armenia, preventing enemies from even thinking about an attack from this direction, along with many other interesting facts from history.
