Itinerary
-
Karnak Temple & Luxor Temple Tour
- Meet your tour guide and visit the Karnak Temple, the second-largest religious construction in the world, a fast gateway of shrines, halls, sanctuaries and statues. The complex contains holy lakes, hypostyle halls, obelisks, pylons and written historical accounts on the walls. Your guide will explain which Pharaoh constructed which part of the site and what rituals were performed.
- Next, head to the Luxor Temple, gracefully decorating the banks of the River Nile. It is smaller than the Karnak Temple, connected through the recently opened Sphinx Alley. The Luxor Temple was dedicated not to a deity or pharaoh but to the Rejuvenation of Kingship and the center of the Opet Festival. Many Pharaohs were crowned here in person (Tutankhamun) or conceptionally (Alexander the Great).
