The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Abomey-Calavi and Kpodji Festival in Ganvié

First day:

Meet your tour guide and transfer from Cotonou Airport to the Abomey-Calavi jetty.
Ride a boat to Hotel Germain Holyday Resort in Ganvié. Check in to your hotel and enjoy welcome snacks.
Consult with the talking 'AGUE', the Voodoo doll.
Play games with some children. Children usually gather in specific places to enjoy interesting games with their mates. It is also a moment to learn about their lives.
Enjoy the 'Kpodji' festival on the first day. Kpodji has two sticks on its two legs, wears a special dress, and has a mask on its face. It dances to the rhythm of drums and songs and performs acrobatic dances, with the sticks rising more than two meters from the ground. Singers and drummers perform on two different stages; the singers sing to the rhythm of the drums while Kpodji dances and sings the same songs. Tourists can also dance in the clothing of their choice.
Return to the hotel for the night.

Day 02

Floating Market, Ganvié Sightseeing and Agahoun

Second day:

Visit the nearby floating market early in the morning.
Enjoy sightseeing in Ganvié village.
Witness 'Agahoun' on the second day. Agahoun is a huge drum left to the new generation by the ancestors of Ganvié.
End of the tour and return to Cotonou.
