The itinerary

Day 01

Pangkalan Bun to Kotawaringin Lama and Astana Al - Nursari

Get picked up at the meeting point in Pangkalan Bun and enjoy traditional street food in Pangkalan Bun for lunch.
Drive to Kotawaringin Lama by car for approximately 1.5 hours, with several stops to enjoy the scenery.
Check in to Astana Al - Nursari and have a house tour with a local guide.
Visit Kyai Gede Mosque, the oldest mosque in Central Kalimantan, and enjoy sightseeing in the village.
After dinner, a shaman will lead the old Tampung Tawar ritual, followed by traditional martial arts and Malay-Dayak music performances.
Stay overnight in basic accommodation at Astana Al - Nursari. Meals provided: lunch and dinner.

Day 02

Astana Al - Nursari to Danau Masoraian and Pangkalan Bun

After breakfast, take a short walk to see farmers making brown sugar.
A small boat will take you to explore Danau Masoraian, the lowland peat forest. The exploration takes approximately 6 hours and includes wildlife spotting.
You may also see local people fishing with traditional methods and learn how they preserve fish. Lunch will be provided at the lanting - a small floating fishermen's camp.
In the afternoon, drive back to Pangkalan Bun.

Meals provided: breakfast and lunch.

Please follow the rules in the village, including:
- Dress appropriately in casual clothing that covers from the shoulders to the knees.
- Personal intimate activities such as kissing are taboo for locals.
- Locals may offer you something to drink or eat. If you do not wish to accept, please take the glass or food, lift it, give it back, and touch your cheeks as a sign of respect (also called pose-pose).
- To enjoy the journey and wildlife experiences responsibly, please inform your tour guide if you find that rules are not being followed.
- To avoid culture shock, please be tolerant of eastern customs, including dress, male-female interaction, and drinking alcohol.
