6-Day Kenya Safari to Aberdare, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara

• After breakfast, arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya.

• After passing through customs, proceed to the Safari Park Hotel, booked on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

• Have breakfast at the hotel.

• In the morning, drive north past Thika, an industrial town surrounded by extensive pineapple plantations, partially owned by the Del Monte Company. After crossing the Tana River, the source of Kenya's hydroelectric power, the landscape changes to the lush farmland of the Kikuyu people.

• Enjoy lunch at Aberdare Country Club.

• After lunch, transfer by a club special vehicle to Ark Lodge, your tree hotel, where the night is spent watching different animals as they come to visit the floodlit waterhole and saltlick. Elephants, rhinos, buffalo, giant forest hog, leopard, and many other species frequent the waterhole.

• Eat breakfast at the lodge.

• In the morning, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Rift Valley floor.

• After a short viewing stop, continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge, your home for the night.

• Enjoy an afternoon game drive.

• After an early breakfast, check out and proceed to Masai Mara. A pleasant drive across the dramatic Great Rift Valley takes you through Narok Township, a major Masai administrative center, to one of the stellar events of your safari - Masai Mara, Kenya's most precious wildlife sanctuary.

• Enjoy lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge.

• After lunch, take a brief time to relax before departing for an afternoon game drive.

• Spend the day in the Masai Mara with early morning, morning, and afternoon game drives. Large mammals are varied, abundant, and easy to see. Residents among the park's mammals include Masai giraffe, eland, topi, and thousands of plains game, including impala, zebra, and both Thomson's and Grant's gazelles.

• Between the game drives, a visit to an authentic Masai village (included) is conducted. A detailed talk about the Maasai will be delivered by your safari driver prior to or during the visit.

• After lunch and some relaxation time, enjoy a second game drive this afternoon.

• After a sumptuous breakfast, drive to Nairobi, arriving by 12:30 p.m.

• Eat lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant.

• After lunch, transfer to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your international flight back home.
