Alamein Battlefields in Cairo
- Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and then you will travel to Alamein.
- Proceed to World War II remains and cemeteries. Your first stop will be at the Military Museum. The Museum aims to document the Al-Alamein battle by introducing a group of weapons, armours, and models that symbolize Al-Alamein battles and the contributing forces, besides a group of battle course-of-action maps and a group of battle course-of-action maps acquisitions of battle commanders.
- Continue to visit the WWII Cemeteries, El Alamein War Cemetry contains the graves of men who died at all stages of the Western Desert campaigns, brought in from a wide area, but especially those who died in the Battle of El Alamein at the end of October 1942 and in the period immediately before that. The cemetery now contains 7,240 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, of which 815 are unidentified. There are also 102 war graves of other nationalities. The citadel like cemeteries is the final resting place for Commonwealth, Greek, Italian and German soldiers.
