10-Day Sri Lanka Cultural Tour with Safari, Highlands and Heritage

• Arrive at Colombo International Airport, where you will meet your designated tourist chauffeur. After completing the airport formalities, you will be escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle and proceed to Negombo (travel time approx. 20 minutes).
• Visit the Negombo fish market, a fascinating place to experience the authentic local fishing culture of Sri Lanka.
• Proceed towards the Galle Dutch Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It was first built in 1588 by the Portuguese and then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards.

Relax and overnight stay in Negombo.

• After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya. En route, visit Dambulla Cave Temple, one of the World Heritage Sites, which includes more than 157 Buddha statues and about 20,000 square feet of wall paintings.
• After lunch, later in the evening, go for an elephant safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, which is home to hundreds of wild elephants.
• Return to the hotel and relax.

Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

• After breakfast, visit Lion Rock, another World Heritage Site of a citadel that dates to the 18 years from 477 to 495. One of the biggest attractions of Sri Lanka, it includes a water garden, boulder garden, frescoes, and mirror wall.
• Proceed to Kandy en route; you will visit a Herb and Spice Garden and enjoy a cultural dancing experience.
• Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 16th century as a place of veneration for Lord Buddha's sacred tooth. Walk through the beautifully embellished passageways and elaborately decorated halls in red, cream, and black. Lounge against delicately carved pillars and be amazed by the beautiful golden statues.

Overnight stay in Kandy.

• After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Garden and then proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
• En route, you will visit a tea factory, waterfall, pink post office, Victoria Park, and more.
• Explore the city of Nuwara Eliya, the highland city and premium holiday resort town of the British in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Enjoy walking through the streets with their pretty little cottages.
• In the evening, visit and walk through Gregory Park and enjoy a boat ride on Gregory Lake.

Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

• Early in the morning, visit another unique trekking site called "World's End" at Horton Plains (3 hours).
• After trekking, proceed to the railway station and board the train to experience one of the most beautiful scenic train rides to Ella (2 hours).

Overnight stay in Ella.

• Visit Nine Arch Bridge, one of the best colonial-era railway constructions, built in 1921.
• Little Adam's Peak is a scenic peak reachable by steps and a moderate hiking trail, offering picturesque sunrise views.
• Ravana Waterfall is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka and currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country.
• Hike to Ravana Cave, a secluded cliff cave linked to a mythical Hindu king and accessed by steep steps through lush forest.

Overnight stay at Yala.

• Go on a Yala wild safari, one of the most famous national parks and very rich in wildlife. You are virtually sure to encounter elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, monkeys, and sometimes Sri Lankan leopards.
• En route, you will visit stilt fishing, and after the safari, proceed for an overnight stay in Koggala.

• Go for whale watching and then proceed to Bentota.
• En route, you will visit a turtle hatchery, Galle Dutch Fort, and later in the evening go for a Maadu River boat tour.

• After breakfast, proceed to Colombo, an ideal place to capture some of the best city vibes in Sri Lanka. It offers monuments, colonial architecture, beaches, fine dining, vibrant nightlife, and plenty of shopping.
• Enjoy a Colombo city tour covering Galle Face Green, Gangaramaya Temple, Old Parliament, Independence Square, Lotus Tower, and more.
