Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave Exploration

Pick up early in the morning to arrive at the cave site and enjoy the entire cave all to yourself.
Take a 45-minute hike through the jungle, crossing the same river three times. Then enjoy 3-4 hours of caving, full of information and surrounded by pottery and skeletal remains.
Have a delicious lunch and get dropped off at the hotel.

What to bring

Wear comfortable, lightweight clothing and shoes, or bring a pair of closed-toe water shoes.
Pair of socks.

Know before you go

You don't have to be extremely fit, but you should be able to hike, swim, and climb with ease.
Sneakers can get heavy during the hike after getting wet. It is good to have a pair of socks with you for the portion of the tour that is done barefoot, as mentioned above.
Keep your socks dry by placing them inside your helmet. All personal items must be left in the tour van at the parking lot, including extra dry clothes for after the tour, a small towel, tip money for the tour guides, and cameras. A few years ago, tourists dropped their cameras on one of the Mayan skulls and broke it. Due to this incident, cameras or cell phones are banned from the cave.
A small bottle of water or Gatorade and a light snack, such as a granola bar, are recommended before entering the cave. We do provide lunch and a drink; however, if you think you'll need it, a little extra water and grub would go a long way.
Confirmation will be received at the time of booking unless booked within 2 days of travel. In this case, confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability.
