Sightseeing Through Historic Nazareth
- Meet your tour guide in Nazareth and start your tour.
- Stand at "the brow of the hill on which the town was built" - Luke 4:28. Listen to a briefing about the location, the history, and Jesus's mission in Nazareth and the Galilee, along with an introduction to various biblical events that took place in the area.
- Standing by the ancient St. Gabriel Greek Orthodox Community Church, see and drink from the well where the Virgin Mary came some 2,000 years ago to fill her pot. Feel what it is like to be in such a sacred place with a long Middle Eastern heritage.
- Walk through the old city, with its art handicraft shops, cafes, and more, and feel the atmosphere of the past in a Middle Eastern town.
- Hear various stories about old fading professions and habits that were common until quite recently. Pass by the mosque and discuss relationships between religions, along with cultural commonalities and differences.
- Stop by what was a synagogue in Jesus's time, the Church of the Synagogue, to hear and discuss the story of how Jesus was rejected by his hometown (Luke 4). Talk about dramatic changes that you may encounter in your life and how to deal with them.
- Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, the place where Father God decided to offer His salvation once more. After centuries without messengers and prophets, the decision was made to send His only Son to speak directly to people: "The Word Became Flesh," according to John. Stand in this unique place and try to live the story. Feel and reflect on what it can mean for you.
- You will see the crypt and the main basilica, and also visit the house and workshop of St. Joseph and the Holy Family.
