Itinerary
-
Sarajevo in the 90s War
- Meet your tour guide and start the tour.
- Explore the Tunnel Of Hope of Sarajevo. The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a jewel of intertwined cultures and customs, found itself in a whirlwind of war in early 1992. No one could have guessed the horrific scenario, but the horror began as early as April 1992, when the enemy forces surrounded the city and began shelling and sniping it. In such a hopeless situation, the idea of building a tunnel was born, which would connect the city with the suburban settlement of Butmir, a free territory at the foot of Mount Igman.
- The tour will take you to a building that still stands as it remained after the war, a ruined hospital that experienced unprecedented horrors during the war in Sarajevo.
- See Sniper Alley street. It was an informal name for the main boulevard of Sarajevo, which was exposed to sniper fire during the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Siege of Sarajevo, and as such became notorious as a dangerous place for civilians to move.
- Later on this tour, you will visit Trebević mountain and a famous Bobsleigh track which was made for the 1984 Winter Olympic Games.
