Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Historic Gardens
- Our first stop is the university and historic town of Stellenbosch. We will walk through a few blocks of the city to the Village Museum, where we encounter original restored houses, explore their interiors, and learn about their history.
- We will walk back along a street full of shops and can stop briefly at some of them.
- After that, we will visit a wine farm with good wine and a fantastic view over Stellenbosch, situated at the top of Helshoogte Pass.
- Then, we will stop for lunch under the trees at a neighbouring farm.
- We will carry on to Franschhoek, the heart of one of our wine valleys. There are beautiful shops along the main road and, if time permits, you can have a bit of a walk around and shop. Alternatively, we can go for a drive up the pass on the other side of town.
- We leave Franschhoek and head towards a 300-year-old garden. The surrounding gardens are some of the most magnificent gardens that we will walk through. All the vegetables used in hotels and restaurants, or sold in the shops, come from these organic gardens.
