The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Antananarivo

  • Meet your tour guide at the airport upon arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight at Les Relais des Plateaux on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Day 02

Drive to Ampefy via Lemurs' Park and Lily's Waterfall

  • Meet your tour guide at your hotel at 7:30 am and depart at 8:00 am.
  • Stop at Lemurs' Park at around 10:00 am.
  • Walk through the park for an hour, then have lunch at a restaurant.
  • Depart from Lemurs' Park at around 1:00 pm and drive to Lily's Waterfall.
  • Arrive at Lily's Waterfall at around 3:00 pm. Admire the view and take pictures of the waterfall.
  • Drive to your hotel in Ampefy later in the afternoon.

Overnight at Eucalyptus Hotel on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Day 03

Analavory Geyser Visit and Return to Antananarivo

  • Meet your tour guide at Eucalyptus Hotel at 8:00 am and drive to the geyser at 8:30 am.
  • Visit the geyser from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and take amazing pictures.
  • Then ride back to your hotel and have lunch at the restaurant.
  • Depart from your hotel again at 2:00 pm and arrive in Antananarivo in the evening at around 6:00 pm.

Overnight at Les Relais des Plateaux Hotel on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Departure Transfer

  • Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the airport 2 hours before your departure.
  • Check in at the airport for departure.

What to bring

  • Depending on the season:
    • During the dry season, from August to December, bring light clothing.
    • During the rainy season, from December to March, bring a raincoat.
    • During winter, from April to July, bring warm clothing.
  • In all seasons, wear sturdy shoes while trekking, especially when trekking through Tsingy National Park.
  • Do not forget to bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and a flashlight. Sometimes, the power does not work 24/7 in the countryside of Madagascar.

Know before you go

  • Please be aware that the view at Lily's Waterfall changes depending on the time of year you visit Madagascar.
  • During the dry season, from August to December, the view is less attractive because there is very little water flowing.
  • During the rainy season, from December to March, the view is very spectacular because there is much more water flowing. The peak rainy season is in February.
  • During winter, from April to July, the view is still better, but the dry season is already approaching and will soon affect it.
  • Hiring a local guide is mandatory when visiting any park in Madagascar.
  • If you bring USD bills, make sure they were issued after 2010. In Madagascar, no money changer accepts USD bills issued before 2010.
  • Wearing a face mask is still mandatory in crowded and confined places.
  • A Covid-19 vaccine pass is required at the airport.
