4-Day Lemur Exploration in Madagascar with Andasibe and Lemur's Island

• Get picked up at the airport upon your arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight in the hotel.

• Have breakfast at your hotel.
• Drive to Andasibe after breakfast.
• Stop at the reptile park en route and visit this little private park to take pictures of the leaf-tailed gecko, tomato frogs, and the mantella frog, as well as 7 species of chameleons. You can also see the tiny chameleon, just 1 cm in full adult size, three species of snakes - the tree boa, the ground boa, and the liana snake - along with fruit bats and butterflies.
• Take pictures of the beautiful landscapes along National Road Number 2. The palm tree known as the traveler's palm decorates the hills along this road.
• Go on a night walk along the park side in Andasibe. During the walk, you may spot the Bertha sportive lemur, one of the smallest lemurs in Madagascar and a nocturnal lemur species. You can also see some species of chameleons and frogs in the forest of Andasibe National Park.

Overnight in the hotel.

• Breakfast at your hotel.
• Transfer to the park gate.
• Take a walk in Andasibe-Mantadia National Park through the rainforest for 3 to 4 hours to spot mainly the largest lemur, called Indri indri, as well as the bamboo lemur and the sifaka, simply called the white lemur.
• After the walk, transfer back to your hotel for lunch.
• In the middle of the afternoon, around 3:00 pm, drive to Lemur's Island.
• Explore Lemur's Island and spot different types of lemurs. To reach the island, you have to cross a little river by rowing boat. You will visit 3 small islands, and on each island, you can see different species of lemurs.
• On the first island, you will see the black-and-white lemur, the bamboo lemur, and the common brown lemur. On the second island, you will see the white lemur and Lemur macaco macaco, simply called the black lemur. On the third island, you will see the ring-tailed lemur, or simply called Maki in Malagasy.
• The visit through these three small islands can last 1 to 2 hours. Only on the first island can you walk in the forest to spot these 3 different species mentioned above, but on the other two islands, you have to stay in the boat to spot them.
• Late in the evening, drive back to your hotel.
• Overnight in the hotel.

• Depending on your flight schedule from Antananarivo to your home country, leave Andasibe to catch your flight. The direct drive from Andasibe to the airport takes roughly 5 hours.
• If you wish to buy some souvenirs from Madagascar, stop at the biggest artisanal market on the way to the airport.
• Get dropped off at the airport 1 hour prior to your departure for check-in.
