Description
Sign up for a 7-day adventurous safari starting from Ruaha National Park with its excellent wildlife sighting opportunities. Then, head to Mikumi National Park which has more than 400 bird species and board a boat ride on the Rufiji river in Udzungwa National Park. Finally, visit Selous Game Reserve and spot gnus, sable antelopes, eland, greater kudus and other wildlife species.

Day 1: Iringa - Ruaha National Park
- You will be picked from your hotel in Iringa and drive to Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is one of the largest National Park in Tanzania, it covers an area of about 13,000 square km. The Park is part of a larger ecosystem which include Rungwa and Usangu Game Reserves amongst several other protected areas. The park is names after the Great Ruaha River which flows along the south-eastern part of the park. The park is very rich in birdlife, more than 570 species, a haven for birdwatchers.
- You can spot very large elephant herds to be found here, also a good place to spot the Kudu, Sable and Roan antelopes. The area is also a habitat for the endangered wild dogs, other wildlife include lions, leopard, cheetah, zebra, giraffe and many more.
- Carry a packed lunch, if time allows you can enjoy an afternoon game-drive.

Day 2: Ruaha National Park - Iringa
- Spend a full day game drive, return for a hot lunch or enjoy a picnic in the park. The park has many impressive baobab trees and the brachstegia (miombo) woodland is the dominant vegetation.
- Drive back to Iringa around evening.

Day 3: Iringa - Mikumi
- Have an early morning breakfast and then drive to Mikumi National Park, fourth largest park in Tanzania.
- Go for a game drive to the park upon arrival. You can spot the Big Five, hippos, zebra, wildebeest, impala, buffalo and more than 400 bird species.

Day 4: Mikumi - Udzungwa
- Depart from Mikumi National Park and head towards Udzungwa Mountain National Park.
- Go hiking in the park.

Day 5: Udzungwa - Selous Game Reserve
- Today the safari continues to the Selous Game Reserve. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on the Rufiji River. This is a totally different experience and a great contrast to the previous days of game drives.
- The Rufiji River is a wide and winding river that forms several lakes in the heart of the reserve. Enjoy a sundowner while watching the herds of wildlife coming down to the river to drink. A birders paradise and very rich in fish eagles, herons, Egyptian geese, storks, bee-eaters and kingfishers.

Day 6: Selous Game Reserve
- Spend a full day doing game drives and get a chance to explore different areas of the vast park and have good photographic opportunities. Apart from the area being famous for its large herds of elephants, hippos and rhinos, the area is also rich with gnus, sable antelopes, eland, greater kudus, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, lions, leopards and buffalos.

Day 7: Selous Game Reserve - Dar es Salaam
- Enjoy the last early morning going for a walking safari. Drive back to Dar es Salaam.
- You will be dropped off at the airport in the evening for departure or an extension program.
