Head to Katavi National park, Tanzania’s third largest park, on a 9-day wildlife safari. Spot a large population of hippos and crocodiles in the park and then fly to Mahale National Park, where you will find bright-coloured cichlids and chimpanzees in the forest.
Itinerary

Day 1: Airport - Katavi National Park
- Catch a morning shared chartered flight from Arusha to Katavi National Park in western Tanzania, the third biggest national park in the country. Meet your tour guide at the airport and transfer to your overnight accommodation in Katavi National Park.
- Overnight stay at Mbalimbali tented camp where you will spend 3 nights in a tented suite with a private veranda for a good view. The camp is well located for a game-rich area in the park.

Day 2: Katavi National Park
- Spend the whole day in the park doing game drives which cover extensive grassland savanna plains, woodland, marshlands, rough hills, lakes, and rivers when combined with neighbouring game reserves of Rukwa, Luafi, and Lukwati form a great eco-system.
- See the substantial population of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, and hartebeests, as well as predators such as hyenas and pride of lions. Spot the leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs as well. In dry months from July to October, hundreds of hippos crowd into the remaining waterholes and rivers while crocodiles sun themselves on the banks.
- The area has few permanent camps with a few visitors a year.

Day 5: Mahale National Park
- After breakfast, transfer to the local Airstrip. Fly to Mahale Mountains National Park in a shared charter. Mahale National Park sits next to Lake Tanganyika, the longest freshwater lake in the world. For those who enjoy remoteness, beautiful landscapes and wildlife, Mahale is a place to visit in all of Africa.
- The main attraction is Chimpanzees which makes this area unique, presence in the thick forests cover its slope. Jane Goodall made the area famous and highlighted knowledge of the Chimpanzees, and sponsored their conservation. Close watching by these scientific studies have made chimpanzee approachable allowing a unique and rare experience. Apart from chimpanzees, the lake itself is pretty beautiful and home to plentiful birds and marine life.
