The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Mfuwe and Transfer to South Luangwa

Arrive at Mfuwe Airport and meet your tour guide.
Travel to South Luangwa National Park.
Arrive at Royal Jacob South Luangwa Lodge in Mfuwe, outside South Luangwa National Park, for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 02

Game Drive and Wildlife Viewing in South Luangwa

Have an early morning breakfast at the lodge, meet your tour guide, and go for a game drive.
Spot wild animals, including elephants, baboons, lions, giraffes, zebra, impala, wildebeest, leopards, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, and many more.
Travel back to Royal Jacob South Luangwa Lodge in Mfuwe in the afternoon for lunch.
Go on a night safari drive again in the evening, at an additional cost, and travel towards the riverside.
Spot water animals such as crocodiles and hippos.
Try bird-watching and look for saddle-billed storks, malachite kingfishers, fish eagles, goliath herons, and bee-eaters.
Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Departure from Mfuwe

Wake up early in the morning and travel to Mfuwe Airport for your flight back home.

What to bring

Comfortable safari clothes and walking shoes.
Camera: Kindly bring a good SLR with different lenses, especially a super telephoto zoom lens, such as the 200-600mm Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Super Telephoto Zoom. Extra memory cards are a must - one can never take enough photos. Other equipment to bring includes the camera charger (240v), enough film, extenders, as well as adequate batteries, because you will not have the possibility to shop for some time within the wild bush.
Binoculars: Bring a good brand of binoculars, preferably a hunting one, to spot elusive animals like the leopard.
