The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Addis Ababa and Transfer to Dinsho

Arrive at Addis Ababa Airport, meet your tour guide, and drive to Dinsho town, where the park headquarters are located.
Begin your hike in the national park and spot some endemic and endangered mammals such as Menilik's Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, Warthog, Reedbuck, Gray Duikers, and Baboons.
Look for Ethiopian endemic birds such as Black-headed siskin, Wattled ibis, and Abyssinian catbird in the juniper woodlands around Bale Mountains headquarters.

Overnight stay at Dinsho Campsite: 3100 above sea level.

Day 02

Trek from Dinsho to Sodota Campsite

Have an early morning breakfast and begin the hike to Sodota, which is about 18 km long.
Trek from Dinsho through the spectacular scenery of Web Valley towards the Fincha Habera waterfall, where the Web and Wolla rivers meet.
Spot the endemic Ethiopian Wolf, as well as raptors, rock hyrax, and endemic birds such as Blue-winged Goose. This will surely leave you excited and in awe of the true wilderness of the Bale Mountains.
Arrive at the campsite and enjoy coffee or tea along with dinner.

Overnight stay in Sodota Campsite: 3500 above sea level.

Day 03

Trek from Sodota to Wasema

Trek to Wasema through beautiful landscapes with stunning views.
Pass through Mararo Valley, where the Lammergeyer and Verreaux's Eagles build their nests.
Spot the Ethiopian Wolf and numerous birdlife along the way.
Arrive at Wasema Campsite after around 6-7 hours of trekking.

Overnight stay in Wasema Campsite: 3900 above sea level.

Day 04

Trek through Worgona Valley to Sanneti Plateau

Start the day by hiking through Wasema and then continue down into the Worgona Valley.
Spot falcons, raptors, and possibly Ethiopian wolves.
Pass through the most beautiful Afro-alpine moorland, with beautiful wild alpine scenery and lakes on the plateau.
Arrive at Sanneti Campsite after around 7-8 hours of trekking.

Overnight stay in Sanneti Campsite: 4100 above sea level.

Day 05

Drive to Harenna Forest and Waterfall Hike

Have an early morning breakfast at camp, meet the driver, and travel to Harenna Forest, the second-largest tropical rainforest in the country.
On the way, spot the rare and endangered canid species Ethiopian Wolf, Abyssinian Hare, and water birds like Blue-winged Goose, Ruddy Shelduck, Wattled Crane, and others.
Take a hike in the forest to reach the waterfall and the Bamboo Trail. The endemic Bale Monkey can be seen in the area along with numerous bird species.
