Day 01

Arrival in Zanzibar and Transfer to Mikumi National Park

Arrive in Zanzibar and drive to Mikumi National Park.
Stop for lunch along the way.
Go on a half-day safari in the park.

Overnight stay inside the park.

Day 02

Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, go for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park.
Spot wild animals such as lions, zebras, elephants, giraffes, impala, eland, kudu, black antelope, baboons, wildebeests, buffaloes, and hippos.
You can also try bird-watching, as more than 400 different species of birds inhabit the park.
Have a packed lunch and dinner during the safari.
Return to your lodge.

Day 03

Masai Village Visit and Transfer to Ruaha National Park

Drive to a Masai village after breakfast at 8:00.
Spend time at the Masai village and meet the locals, then drive to Ruaha.
Stop for lunch on the way.
Arrive at Ruaha National Park and go for an evening game drive.

Overnight stay at a lodge in the park.

Day 04

Full-Day Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and go for a full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park.
Spot wild animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat-eared foxes, jackals, wild dogs, kudu, sable, and roan antelopes.
Look for reptiles and amphibians, as the park also harbours crocodiles, poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, monitor lizards, agama lizards, and frogs.

Overnight stay at a lodge in the park.

Day 05

Morning Safari in Ruaha and Drive to Dar es Salaam

Go for a half-day game drive in Ruaha National Park.
Try bird-watching early in the morning.
Drive to Dar es Salaam.
Stop for lunch on the way.
Have dinner and spend the night in a hotel in Dar es Salaam.

Day 06

Return from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar

Have an early morning breakfast and get picked up by your driver.
Arrive at the ferry terminal at 07:00 am and leave for Zanzibar.
Reach Zanzibar and get dropped off at the hotel.

What to bring

T-shirts and tank tops
Long-sleeved shirts (to protect against sunburn)

Lightweight long pants or convertible long-cropped pants
A warm fleece sweater or jacket for cold weather, especially early in the morning and late at night
A swimsuit if your hotel has a swimming pool
Pyjamas
Stick to neutral or khaki colours and avoid wearing dark blue or black clothes, as these colours tend to attract flies
Wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and bug spray are a must

Know before you go

Cell/mobile phones - You can buy a SIM card and use your own phone for communication and internet access. Please ask our guide for assistance.
ATMs - There are a few ATMs in big hotels or at the airport that support Visa or Mastercard for cash withdrawals.
Cash - The best currency to bring is US dollars. US$50 and US$100 bills get better exchange rates than smaller denominations and other currencies. However, you are advised to leave large bills in the hotel safe and carry small bills such as $10 or $20.
Valuable items - Like any other big city, carrying expensive items such as iPads and iPhones can be risky when walking on the streets, but they are safe in the hotel.
Security at the parks - When travelling in the national parks, our guides are trained to put your security and protection from wildlife first. They will warn you if it is not safe to get out of the safari vehicle.
Photography - Do not take photographs of border posts, military or police posts, or government buildings.
